Consequently, a volume outlives any {{< glossary_tooltip text="containers" term_id="container" >}} that run within the {{< glossary_tooltip text="pod" term_id="pod" >}}, and data is preserved across {{< glossary_tooltip text="container" term_id="container" >}} restarts.
